Thirteen Colors.
Day and Night.
Every Color has a Day look and a Night look. Set Lighting to System and the wave follows your Mac’s appearance on its own.
Dark Blue
The original wave, in dark blue.
Free, and made for the Mac.
The wave, every Color, and every setting below cost nothing.
On every display
The wave fills each screen, behind your windows and icons.
Light on your Mac
Drawn with Metal on Apple silicon. It pauses when a window covers it and slows down on battery.
Tune it live
Advanced settings shape the wave and its particles as you watch. Save the ones you like as presets.
There when you sign in
Turn on Open at Login once, and the wave is waiting every time.
Wave X Pro
Pro unlocks in the same app with a license key. Nothing else to download.
Your lock screen, in sync
The lock screen shows the same wave and follows when you change it. Wave X makes each movie on your Mac, in a few minutes the first time.
Accent and icons
Your Mac’s accent color, highlight color and tinted icons follow the wave.
Pointer
The pointer takes on the wave’s colors.
Your own Colors
Start from any Color, then set its base color, brightness, saturation, depth and edge shadows.
Focus, Shortcuts and Spotlight
Show a Color while a Focus is on, or change Colors from Shortcuts and Spotlight.
Changes to your Mac. With your permission, Wave X Pro can change your accent color, icon tint, pointer colors and lock screen wallpaper. You can turn each feature off in Wave X.
Good to know. Some Pro features (lock screen sync, accent and icon matching, and pointer matching) rely on macOS behavior Apple does not publicly document. A macOS update can change or stop those features. It may not be possible to restore compatibility in every case.
Questions
Can I use one license on two Macs?
No. One Wave X Pro license unlocks Pro on one Mac. It can’t be shared or moved to a different Mac, so a new Mac needs its own license. If that same Mac is erased or repaired, you can use one self-service recovery: choose Need Help? when you enter your key. After that, contact support, who can restore Pro on that same Mac.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. To request a refund within 14 days, email support@wavex.live with your order number. Refunds are processed through Polar. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected. Optional feedback helps make Wave X better.
After a refund, Pro turns off when Wave X next runs and completes its online license check. That is normally within a week, but later if the Mac is offline or Wave X isn’t running.
Wave X is made by one independent developer, so a reply can take a little while. Every message gets an answer, as quickly as possible.
What if a macOS update breaks something?
Some Pro features rely on macOS behavior Apple does not publicly document. A macOS update can change or stop those features, and it may not be possible to restore compatibility in every case. Make sure Wave X is up to date (Check for Updates… in its menu bar menu). If a feature still doesn’t work, email support.
How does Wave X update?
Wave X can check for updates once a day while “Check for updates automatically” is turned on. You can turn off automatic checks or check manually. Updates install automatically only if you turn on “Download and install automatically”, and then the next time Wave X quits; otherwise you choose when to install.
What does Wave X send over the internet?
Very little, and no analytics. The update check asks this website whether a new version is out. With Pro, activation and a weekly license check send your license key and a coded identifier for your Mac to Polar. The Privacy Policy has the details.
What do I need?
A Mac with Apple silicon and macOS Tahoe 26 or later. Beta versions of macOS aren’t supported.
